20-years in Real Estate: This is Our Story as Told by Our Founder & CEO

CapGrow Partners: Leasing with a Purpose

I founded CapGrow in 2005 with a vision of providing unwavering service, attention, and precise execution to the real estate needs of the Behavioral Health Community. The idea was born from growing-up in a household of two social workers who committed significant resources, time, and attention to serving those in need. CapGrow presented an opportunity for me to give back in my own way. By parlaying my business training with the lessons learned from my parents, I identified a path that would allow me to make a positive contribution to expanding community-based housing opportunities nationwide.

When I started out, I noticed that no other company or group of investors thought much about the “service-side” of the business. They seemed to only focus on how much money they would make on each lease and how many leases they could write. Yes, making money was a focus of mine (and the only way the company would survive), but I held a staunch belief that if I provided a bespoke service that focused on the Provider’s needs first, I would deliver a far more attractive offering.

I need to note that although I had the proverbial blueprint drafted for my new venture, getting business in the beginning proved to be more difficult than I ever imagined. As a result of hard work, an unwillingness to give up, and a bit of luck, I identified a group in Texas that was attracted to my “service-side” thesis. I am extremely proud to say that they remain one of our largest Partners. That first home I bought in Abilene, TX was only recently sold after being leased for close to 20-years. It was a bittersweet day, but also a gentle reminder of how far CapGrow had come.

Over the past 20-years, CapGrow has acquired and leased more than 1,250 assets located across 40 states. We have relationships that are approaching their 20th year and many that have just begun. Our team travels over 15,000 miles annually visiting our Partners and attending conferences. The average tenure of our Executive Team is over 12-years. We are consistently hitting new milestones, winning both local and national awards, and being recognized by our Partners as “best-in-class.” Our Team grinds and hustles every single day while remaining true to our core values and mission. A major component of that discipline is not losing focus of our objective – to provide unparalleled service, execution, and attention to the needs of our Partners so that they focus greater time and resources on fulfilling the needs of the individuals they serve.

I’m very proud of what our Team has built and the services we provide. I can’t wait to see what the next 20-years hold for CapGrow.
