It’s official—the 2018 I/DD Executive Summit was a sold-out success! CapGrow Partners and OPEN MINDS welcomed Summit attendees from all across the country to address some of the toughest marketplace challenges facing behavioral healthcare executives and service providers. Topics addressed included strategic financing options, shifting Medicaid policies and new reimbursement models for I/DD support services.
After a welcome address from CapGrow Partners Founder/CEO Matt Pettinelli, Dr. Olivia Garland and Ms. Lilli Correll, both top executives with Optum, opened the Summit highlighting specific strategic challenges for managed care executives and providers posed by current shifts in the market. Their opening address not only provided context for the day, but also underscored the need for new partnerships and innovative responses to remain competitive.
Tom Schramski of VERTESS, Darren Hodgdon of Beacon Specialized Living, David Hecht of RHA Health Services and Eric Keen of Council Capital headed a Town Hall-style panel discussion designed to answer attendees’ questions about finance models, mergers, buyer trends and future directions for financing.
Following a networking lunch, Ken Carr of OPEN MINDS, Cindy Mahan of Friendship Community Care, Jay Nagy of Advance Care Alliance and Richard Edwards of Community Based Care, LLC led a second Town Hall-style panel discussion to answer questions about value-based financing models, best practices for building competency and examples of organizations successfully navigating to managed care.
The Summit closed with an executive briefing and market discussion led by Monica Oss, CEO of OPEN MINDS, who stressed the need for community participation and improved care integration, as well as specific competencies required for executive teams and provider organizations. A networking cocktail party and reception—new this year—provided participants a chance to unwind and celebrate while continuing to connect, discuss content and share ideas.
“The 2018 I/DD Summit presented thought provoking, innovative and progressive business strategies to executives from across the Country,” said Founder and CEO, Matt Pettinelli. “We were blown away by the sell out crowd, and have already begun planning next year’s Summit.”
